Academy paranormal intro novel that covers the bases, tenses with college plot and establishes and overarching plot that can carry a series. Overall, I truly enjoyed this novel, though there were some campy moments that made me roll my eyes - only a few though. It held strong, and I think it will get stronger as the series continues.Pros:- Formulaic academy tale.... but they are formulaic for a reason, THEY WORK!- The guys: obligatory twins, but aside from that, each of the six guys in question have unique characters and skills, bringing their own personalities to the fray.- Lucie.... she’s strong, even when she’s weak. I love an ‘overcoming’ story, especially one where the FMC faces a past far too many of us know, falling into those dangerous patterns you can’t see - even if the world is screaming, “Why didn’t you just leave?!” Sometimes, it’s not that simple.- Alex.... somethings up with that dude. Answers needed in Book 2!Cons:- Expected more blow back from her own abilities , yet the drama and crux was all too human... and not about her powers. Foreshadowing leads me to anticipate other complications pertaining to that for book 2.... guess this really isn’t a con, is it?- Eye roll moments.- Bit trite here and there.- Reminded me of the FEEL of The Veil Diaries, but not in a bad or plagiarized way.- July for book 2... sigh! 😉

NA. Paranormal. Rh. 6 supernaturals. MmfMMMM. College setting. Abusive pasts. Runaway. Multi POV. Reluctant feelings in their Rh friendship. Lucie's first semester at a Supernatural University is interesting to say the least. Meeting her friends who make her feel safe, finding out what she is, and drama so much drama. OMG the guys! They are so lovable! Even when they are being mean. And the first hot scene is Mm! So flubing hot. I absolutely can not wait for the next one. I want to see more abilities from all of them. See all of the oddness fit into place. So excited. I REALLY loved this story. A recommended read.

This feel like a fast paced Veil Diaries meets College shifter acedemy. And I LOVE IT! While it has the feel of the familiar, Macey has given the characters their own voices and stories, and made it unique and compelling.Lucie is such an awesome character! She is strong, compassionate and brave. She could have been weak from the things she endured, but while it's effects are there, she hasn't let it break her. The guys are awesome, every one of them unique and I love they aren't 'perfect' and they have their own flaws. There is something about Alex and Jonathan that really intrigued me, and Sadie, Char and Benji are awesome, supportive friends. I have my theories about the group and where things will go from here, but I'm super excited to read where AJ Macey takes their story and where all the crumbs she's left us go! I'll be waiting patiently for the next book!

I spent the day ignoting my family so i could read this book. The first few chapters felt a little awkward to me and I was worried the authors writing style was too inexperienced, but after things got going I felt like she hit her stride and I was really invested in the story and the characters. Banter and emotions felt natural and honest. I'm looking forward to seeing how the characters and their relationship build in the next book. I have questions that I'm looking forward to getting answers to.Things I liked about Lucie was that she was strong in her determination to move forward with her life after a passed trama. She was kind, and forgiving, and she wasn't willing to be a pushover.I wanted to know more about her supernatural heritage that was focused on as much as I would have liked, but that leaves more for future books. I also wanted to know more about the guys, I felt like there wasn't enough time spent with a few of them, but that also leaves more to look forward to in future books.Great first book to a new series, I'll look forward to the next book.

Lucie was graduating high school and in one day learned her life wasn't what she thought. Raised as a human by a human she was floored upon receiving an acceptance letter to a college she'd never heard of. Imagine her surprise when her mother divulged she's not her birth mother, and in fact Lucie is a supernatural. Upon funding Lucie as a baby, her birth mum left a letter asking she go to a supernatural university to learn about her heritage. So she's among students who all grew up knowing what they were, and she learned days ago and has no clue of her heritage. On top of all that, she's got some massive trust issues and PTSD. Luckily on her first few days she meets a tribe of hot guys that worn their way into her heart with humor, kindness and friendship. See where this road takes her. It's well worth the read. I for one am cheering this amazing, fierce, resilient young lady on and I can't wait for her to discover her identity and past in the books to come!

I am not much of a reviewer, but because i found this book through a group on Facebook, I wanted to lend my support to this author.I really liked this book. There was a few things that kind of annoyed me (like some of the thoughts the men had about the h), and there were quite a few word errors (words added in the wrong places or left out that should have been there, and just a few grammatical errors (to, two and too....) but overall I liked the book quite a bit.The world building was fun. I loved the idea that Supes are out and accepted. Although not a lot of the story centered around the lead characters supernatural abilities, i still liked the idea of it. I loved the twins (and the nickname Lemon drop was quite unusual and fun). I really loved the unexpected m/m relationship that i didn't really see coming a mile away (even had a bit of dom/sub aspects to it).I don't want to give too much away, so I am going to say that for a debut novel, this was a great story. I wish the author the best and can't wait for the next story.
