My wife and I took the current edition of this book on a 4 week tent camping trip in Baja. It was indispensable. It covered great camp sites my wife remembered from a previous trip she did and helped us find new sites where we needed them. The driving distance and time between some cities helped. Sites and their locations are well described. You won’t find a better book on the subject.

I'm driving down to Cabo San Lucas in my RV and this book has been a wonderful companion for me. The Churches have made this trip so much easier. I walked into the bar at Don Eddie"s Landing and there sat a nice man from Redding Ca. studying this book. We had a long three or was it four margarita visit. Thank you Churches.

Excellent information even for people who just want to go to Baja without camping. Includes what is needed in the way of insurance and paperwork. Best places to cross. Where to obtain pesos. Info on travel sites that specialize in Baja trips, campgrounds and rough campsites. This book will be riding shotgun when I go to Baja in 2018.

We just came back 4 days ago from our RV trip to Cabo San Lucas and this book was extremely important, it helped us find camping sites, it has maps (The gps would have no service & we relied on the book). Important advice and up to date information. We highly recommend it if you are planning to take a trip to Baja!

This is not what I'd hoped, and mostly focused on commercial campgrounds for RVers. I was hoping for something that might identify the endless places off the road, along the beach, were great camping existed for free.

Although this book is definitely oriented toward RV camping, it is extremely thorough and detailed with much better information about Baja campgrounds than is included in general travel guides. We tent camped in Baja for two weeks and used this book extensively, and we were never disappointed with the quality of the information. The authors very helpfully give a bit of the flavor/atmosphere of each campground, and include other very useful information about gas stations, side trips, nearby attractions, etc. I would definitely purchase another guidebook in this series!

A must have if you are traveling Baja.

In a few months, I'll leave for London, again. I've visited several times, but not recently. I bought this book on a whim the other day. Heaven knows, I don't really *need* another London guidebook. But I'm glad I got it. I've read most of it straight through, laughed out loud a couple of times, and enjoyed almost every single entry.If you're easily offended, or if you lack a basic sense of humor, do yourself a favor and skip this book. It's a very personal look at an impressive number of attractions in London, by a guy who's got aging knees, a suspicion of armed individuals, a healthy dislike of hordes of screaming children, and other attitudes on display. That's all fine with me; I hate screaming children too.As my trip approaches I'll refer to this book as I list my final itinerary. I've been to London more than half a dozen times, and there are a few things in here I'd never heard of and might want to see.

This guy tells it like it is. Giving you his preferences up front, he then proceeds to tell you the best (and worst) of each place he visits. Times open, which bus and tube line to take to get there, prices, and special ratings for whether it's good for kids, easy to get to, good value for the money, and worth going are just some of the things he tells you. He also has a website you can visit for more up-to-date info, though this is pretty current as it's the 2017 edition. Worth it just for armchair travelers, and if I ever make it back over there, I'll definitely have this as one of my guide books.

Imagine your goofy uncle retired from teaching and self-published a travel guide. There's some sexist language and corny self-deprecating humor, and heaven knows it needs a thorough copy edit (lots of its/it's style errors). But this is a surprisingly worthwhile book with practical reviews of less well known London destinations. It makes me want to go back to London and hit many of the places he reviews. Mr. Cross' scoring system gives you an idea of how much time to allocate for each destination as well as value for cost, and whether or not kids will hate it. This book is a great value at $3.99 (digital). One note: destinations are not listed in the Table of Contents. The full list of places is at the beginning of "Landmarks and Destinations" section.

I am planning a quick trip to London and truly enjoyed this guidebook. It contains a summary of all major (and most minor) attractions, great information on navigating public transportation, several walking tours, and a smattering of suggested day trips from London. Most importantly, though, it entertained me with irreverent humor and hysterically honest accounts of the author's experiences. I've never read a guidebook cover to cover until now - this isn't your average dry and boring travel guide!

First of all, I love all things British. I have just begun reading this book, and so far, I love it. I smiled through the writer's introduction, and laughed out loud - several times, on the first page. I am looking forward to reading what seems to be a very well-researched travel guide to one of the world's greatest cities.

I found this very entertaining and informative. And repetitive (inevitable with all the cross references). And I have a "serious" guide book too, but this gave me a perspective that the serious guide doesn't. I found Mr. Cross's irreverence a great relief to standard guides, and I'll probably read this again, long after I have left London, just for the laughs.

Excellent compilation. Tickling humour. A rather unusual guide to London. Even if you do not plan to visit London, it has a wealth of info on the city. The photographs embellish the charming writing.

Spot on everything. Went to globe theatre.just like he said. The seats he recommended were perfect,dry and bought the cushions (thank you).Play was fantastic. Great book made a great vacation

I love that the CW is now searchable and the copy/paste feature of Kindle is excellent as it automatically inputs the citation data. However, the digital CW does not provide the vol. number within the text pages, page # or essay title so knowing where I am within the CW when using the search feature is challenging. Many scholarly papers require the vol. # and essay title as part of the citation reference, as well as paragraph numbers, which are provided, and original publication dates. I would love to see the essay titles and index listed in the TOC with links to each. I urge the publisher to add these features if possible to make research work easier. Having said that, I am grateful that the CW is available in digital format as I can take it with me on my tablet wherever I find myself working. Thank you. One solution to knowing what volume and essay I am in while searching is to bookmark all the volumes and essays and then look at the location number to get a rough idea where I am, but it is no substitute for page numbers or volume numbers. Because the index reference paragraph numbers, that could be added here too and would be helpful. The kindle feature of X-ray might help with the navigation difficulties as well.

I am very happy to have Jung's works in digital format. This will allow easy access for research and learning when traveling. I have two serious concerns that I do hope the editors and publisher will rectify. We must have the volume and page numbers available when reading. Without these referents we are unable to cite things properly. Secondly, Volume 20, the Index to the Collected Works is essential. To deepen one's learning and to do proper research it is essential. A simple word search does not substitute for indexed subcategories. With these corrections I would easily offer 10 stars! This is a great start.

Unfortunately the digital edition does not provide page numbers, which are essential for APA research citations. Nor does it 't include Vol. 20, the general index. Why is that? The EBSCO version of the digital edition (which incidentally shows the same cover image) includes page numbers AND volume 20. Jung's opus deserves 5 stars, but these two glaring flaws reduce it to 2.

I can't believe I thought I understood anything about typology before reading this. These are precise and practical concepts for speaking about an impossibly nebulous subject. So much life experience and literature is distilled in this writing. I'm 36 years old and quite certain I would have thrown this in the garbage had I tried to read it more than a couple years ago. Of course that's just me. But I appreciate that Jung never loses sight of how little he knows or can know given his time and cultural milieu.

While it is great to have an e-book version of Jung's Collected Works, there are a number of problems with this e-version that handicaps it as a reference work and for use by a scholar. 1. This great "gift" to scholars is badly spoiled by these limitations and poor formatting. Amazon needs to pressure Princeton to release an updated version that addresses these issues.

I bought this book for my grandson's 6th birthday since he's been intent on things Egyptian and wound up having to get a second one for my 3½-year-old granddaughter as she too really liked the template for creating hierogliphs. Even though she can't yet read many words, she has spent many sessions intensely creating blocks of glyphs just because she likes the characters. My grandson particularly enjoyed the idea that you could write in multiple directions and I think he's actually gotten more details from the book, so an age of 5-6 seems best for maximum benefit.Not sure what happened to the stickers that are included - I think those never made much impact.A related product, Ancient Egypt and Nubia (Ancient and Living Cultures : Stencils) by Bartok, Ronan and Sommerville was also a hit, although many of the stencils are more elaborate and fragile and even the 6-year-old needed some help to ensure they weren't ripped while removing the inserts.

We are doing ancient history this year and right now we are doing a short unit on ancient writing. We studied cunieform writing, Egyptian hieroglyphs and the Rosetta Stone. My daughter got a real kick out of learning the Egyptian alphabet and writing her name on a cartouche. The book includes stencils of the alphabet which comes in handy. It also contains a lot of fun activities to practice hieroglyphic writing. This book could probably be used by students from first through sixth grade.

I bought this book for my homeschooled 7-year-old as we were doing an Egypt unit study.He began using the stencils as soon as we received the book in the mail. I gave him some brief explanations (included in the book) and soon he was making cartuches with the names of family and friends.We really enjoyed this hands-on product! I would definetly recommend this for children interested in Egypt.

We are using this as part of our homeschooling study on Egypt. It came in and she immediately took the stencil and started to write about everything she could think of. There are several pages around here.The one drawback is that it's really meant for kids. It's not really comprehensive and only covers some of the symbols. But really, for playing around, it's lots of fun and you will learn something.

Carolyn Browning Helsel joined the faculty of Austin Seminary in 2015. Prior to her appointment she was a transitional pastor for The Presbyterian Church in Sudbury (Massachusetts). She also served as visiting professor at both the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry and Wartburg Theological Seminary. She was a teaching assistant for Professors Tom Long, Teresa Fry Brown, and Luke Timothy Johnson; the title of her dissertation is "The Hermeneutics of Recognition: A Ricoeurian Interpretative Framework for Whites Preaching about Racism."Helsel was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and served as associate pastor at John Calvin Presbyterian Church (2005-2007) in San Antonio, Texas. While in Boston, she served on the Synod Work Group on Race for the Synod of the Northeast and on the Committee on Preparation for Ministry for Boston Presbytery.
